The Granville at work and play
The Granville is divided into the Early Years (age 3-5), Junior (age 5-7) and Senior Schools (age 7-11).
Creative Arts balances the strong academic emphasis in the school and allows those who may not be so academic to shine. The Granville also offers a broad and varied programme of sports activities, described further in Mind and Body.
ICT is an important part of the curriculum for all ages and is taught from the age of 3½ throughout the school. By the time the girls reach Year 6 they are able to produce simple videos and powerpoint presentations together with interactive hyper-linked powerpoints. They can effectively use internet/emailing, word processing, desktop publishing and excel. They are confident in data handling, graphical modeling and robotics.
In the summer of 2009 the ICT suite was redeveloped providing 16 new computers and an interactive whiteboard. Some classes are split into two groups to allow each child individual access to a computer.
Each class has one or more networked computers and interactive whiteboards are used in the majority of classes.
