A perfect day - blue skies and sunshine and temperature in the mid-20s. We couldn't have wished for a more perfect setting for our Founder's Day Fete.
The Fete was a HUGE success and thanks must go to all those who put so much effort and hard work into the organisation.
The fete was opened by Mrs Evans at 12.30pm. This was followed by a display of maypole dancing. Mrs Cording had been training the girls for several weeks prior to the fete and a very impressive show was enjoyed by the many spectators.
There were some very tempting prizes in the raffle and the silent auction was popular with attractions such as a week's holiday in a villa in Italy, 2 tickete to the Oval, a case of vintage port, 2 tickete to see Kylie at the O2 Dome and many more.
The children enjoyed the boatswings, the inflatable slide and even tried their skills on the rodeo bull. Lucky Dip was always a winner! There were many other stalls - crafts, sweets, ice creams and lollies (very popular on such a hot day!), face painting, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, helium balloons, a bubble bucket and scalextric.
Sandwiches, wraps and delicious cakes, hot-dogs and burgers were all there to keep the hunger pangs away. The Pimms tent was a 'life-saver' with ice-cool cocktails and drinks.
It was good to see so many attending including faces from the past, present and even the future! (see photos below).
