While keeping its traditional values, The Granville is committed to providing the children with facilities which enhance their learning experience. Since 2006 two new buildings have been opened.
The Ena Makin building was opened in September 2006. It is a modern and spacious building with light, airy and colourful classrooms. It accommodates our Early Years Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 classes. There is also an impressive and well equipped Junior Library. Every class is self contained with its own cloakroom facilities and has access to up to date technology and resources. The building has three outdoor areas where the children can play with a wealth of outdoor equipment.
The Maureen Froggatt building was completed in September 2007 and has enabled the school to provide the children with improved learning conditions in various areas of the curriculum. This building includes a new Design and Technology room where the children can experience a wide range of activities using a variety of materials. Some of the activities include creating structures and mechanisms, cooking and sewing. There is also a large and spacious French room, two Learning Development rooms and two individual music teaching rooms.
Future plans include refurbishment of the Key Stage 2 facilities and improvements to the IT department.
