ECO ECO
ECO
FROM BRONZE to SILVER

We are delighted that we have now gained the Silver Eco Award in recognition of our achievement in working towards a sustainable lifestyle.

The Granville Eco Committee members comprise a governor, a parent, a teacher, the bursar and our bank of Eco Warriors. (The Eco Warriors are selected girls from the senior school who wear their badges with pride and work hard on key tasks).  But, please don't forget that all members of the school community need to help to make The Granville an Eco School!

We now proceed to our next goal for the Green Flag Award which is the ultimate eco award. For this we will focus on our energy usage. The eco committee will update our environmental review; collate and use data (energy, water, waste); work more on waste and transport issues; ensure communication throughout the school community via newsletters, the school website and our noticeboard (in main school corridor).

An important part of our work towards our Silver Award was the completion of a full environmental review of the school.  This provides the Granville with a picture of what we do, what we want to change and new ideas for the future.  A copy of this document is available to all.  Please contact secretary@granvilleschool.org.

Many thanks to all the children, staff and parents for their hard work to date.  We have now established recycling, energy and water saving schemes, alongside exciting projects such as Reception's chickens, Spike and Prickles the hedgehogs, growing organically and saving stamps and bottle tops.

For further information please contact Mrs Cording.  For more information on the Eco-schools scheme see www.eco-schools.org.uk.
