On Tuesday 23rd February our U9 and U8’s went off to run in the Hilden Grange cross country event. Both teams were very excited to compete in the 1k race but especially our Yr3’s as this was their first ever competitive sports fixture.
First race of the day was the U8 girls race. As the girls lined up on the start line there were some nerves, but mainly they could not wait to get started. Out of a very strong field of 70+ runners The Granville girls did us proud, with some fantastic finishes. Jasmine came 3rd closely followed by Yana in 4th. The U9’s were up next. Again a huge amount of runners lined up to start and the race got underway. Milly went shooting off to set the pace, with the other Granville girls just behind her. Milly lead the whole race by some distance, speeding up as she got closer to the finish line. 1st Milly, 2nd Amber and 5th Kammy . Because the whole team, made up of 6 runners per age group, were so highly placed individually, we won both the U8 and U9 competitions.
Fantastic result girls!
