On Tuesday, 7th March, all of the girls in Years 4 to 6 were lucky enough to meet the fantastic author, Robin Stevens, author of the incredibly popular ‘Murder Most Unladylike’ series. During the morning, Robin talked to the girls about her books and showed lots of pictures of her childhood and her early life at the boarding school which provides the setting for lots of her novels. The girls were also fortunate enough to have a sneak preview of Robin’s next book, ‘Cream Buns and Crime’ which will be published at the end of March. Robin read extracts from the book, which includes short stories and lots of hints on being a detective, as well as some of her favourite ‘bunbreak’ recipes. There was an interactive session where the girls helped Robin to plan their own unique murder mystery and then Robin answered lots of the girls’questions. Robin’s visit ended with the girls having the opportunity to talk to the author while she signed copies of her books for them. The children were very lucky to get personalised dedications written in their books, which I hope they will treasure for many years to come. At the end of her visit, Robin told me how impressed she was by the number of girls who had read her books and by the range of intelligent questions that they asked her. Well done, girls. I hope you enjoyed meeting Robin as much as she enjoyed visiting. Keep reading!
