We were blessed with another perfect day, weather-wise, for the senior sports day.
Throughout the term, the girls had been learning and practising new techniques for field events and working hard to improve their pace and stamina on the track. Following the collection of data, finalists were selected for the long jump, high jump and ball throw, and these events took place in the morning. The level of competition was very good, and in each discipline a record was broken by a Year 5 girl.
After lunch, the girls took to the track and everyone took part in at least two races. The heats for the 50m sprint saw some very close finishes and the long distance races were exciting to watch. The novelty races were a lot of fun to participate in, and to watch. Having drawn breath, the sprint finals produced two more school records and the relays involved many girls in excellent competition.
Well done to all competitors who took part for your enthusiasm and encouragement for each other.
