Wear Something Red day

Wear Something Red day

The whole school turned red as children and staff wore something red to raise money for the The Disaster Emergency Committee Typhoon Appeal.

Typhoon Haiyan was 300 miles across when it struck the Philippines on the 8th November and one of the most intense tropical storms to ever make landfall anywhere in the world. It brought torrential rain, sustained winds of over 195mph and a storm surge of up to 30 feet that devastated coastal areas.

The Granville raised the fantastic amount of £401.91. This will go towards helping the people of the Philippines by providing:

  • water purification tablets
  • families with food
  • emergency shelters and bedding

This event is one of many planned by  The Granville to support the people of Philippines.
