U11A lost 8 – 28
U11B won 9 – 4
Having won the Sevenoaks School tournament last week, Russell House were going to be a challenge to play. They started confidently and scored straight away from their centre pass. Granville made a promising start, and also scored from their centre. However, from this point onwards, Russell House pulled away and made few mistakes in any part of their game. They averaged seven goals a quarter to just two from the Granville team. All credit to Granville for sticking at it, and trying to stop the momentum, but Russell House were just too good for us on this occasion.
The B team match seemed to be a game of two halves regarding outcome. Mrs Harman umpired the second half of this match, and on arrival, Granville were 3–1 down. In the third quarter, Granville just had the edge on their opponents, and scored two goals. Russell House got one to narrow their lead to just one goal (4 – 3). The team certainly stepped up a gear, and were extremely enthusiastic in their play in the last quarter. Russell House saw little of the ball, whilst Granville played beautifully and through fantastic team play, scored another six goals to comfortably win the match. They nominated Connie as player of the match. Well done to all players though for turning this match around!
