On Wednesday Year 6 has their first rounders match of the season against Walthamstow Hall at home. With beautiful sunshine the girls were really looking forwarded to playing. The Red team was up first winning the toss and deciding to field. The team managed to get six batters out over the 30 good balls but dropped a couple of catches allowing Walthamstow Hall 10 and half rounders. Once batting the girls got off to a good start, picking up lots of half rounders. Grace Talbot had a great game scoring a couple of rounders but unfortunately it was not enough, Walthamstow hall won 10 and half to 7 and a half.
The Blue team were up next and had a very close game, some great play from Eleanor Allen batting and fielding put the team in a great position. A strong team performance with great communication, considering we have had only one lesson so far. A close game but the Blue came out victorious winning 9-7.
Finally the Yellow team took to the field determined to put in a good performance. The great partnership of Emma Sorrell and Sienna Rogerson kept Walthamstow Halls batting score down. Once batting The Granville girls worked really hard gaining lots of half rounders with only two batters getting out. Final score The
Granville won 5-4.
