YEAR 6 FRENCH TRIP 2019

20th December 19

On Wednesday 1st May, Class 6 clambered onto the coach to go to France. After a quick journey through the Eurotunnel, we arrived at our first venue – Village St Joseph. We had a delicious lunch, then went round the mini village answering the questions on our quiz before visiting the shop.

After that, we headed off to our next destination – Les escargots du Bocage! We watched a presentation to learn about snails then we visited where they live and some of us were brave enough to taste some cooked ones. We arrived at Stella Maris just in time for dinner and to sort out our rooms for the all-important room inspection!

On the second day, after a scrumptious breakfast of croissants and chocolat chaud, we set off for the farm at Clenleu where we made our own bread in many different shapes and sizes and plaited our own wheat heart. Our afternoon visit on that day was to Le Musée des Abeilles where we made our own beeswax candle and learned lots of interesting facts about bees.

The final visit of the day was to Les Chocolats de Beussent to learn about how chocolate is made and to taste some – it was delicious! On the last day we made our way to Stella Plage and had fun playing on the beach before visiting La Boulangerie to enjoy our picnic lunch and find out about how croissants and bread are made. Our favourite part of the trip was the wheat plaiting!
