In the summer term, Year 2 have been learning about habitats and minibeasts. As part of this topic, they visited the local Nature Reserve which has a large lake and beautiful woodlands.
The day started off with a nature trail. The girls had a very knowledgeable guide who taught them many interesting facts about minibeasts, living on land and in water. She was also impressed with how many facts they already knew!
The girls took part in pond dipping and had charts to help them identify the creatures that they caught. After lunch and a visit to the shop, they went minibeast hunting using various techniques such as grass sweeping and tree shaking.
It was a day full of fun and adventure!
